Hellooooo bloggers, conversationalists and fellow music lovers! Courtney Preste here (lead singer of the Jester Kings). Some of you may know me by the alias CourtNASTY. I will proudly and boldly be taking over the Blonde Entertainment blog (perhaps my loud mouth landed me this spot? I am from New Jersey after all!) Either way, I can't wait to share and debate with all of you! So let's get started!
I'd like to open with sharing my most recent and amazing musical experience:
Now, we all know the SUPER BOWL literally took over the entire city of Indianapolis. It was all anyone could talk about and when it was all said and done I think we were all more proud to be Hoosiers than we've been in quite a while! This event also gave our city's local musicians the opportunity to shine in various different settings and on a number of wonderful stages!
My band, the Jester Kings had the unique and overwhelming pleasure of playing at the CMT Crossroads show hosted by the PEPSI Coliseum, where we opened up for Sugar Ray, Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler. When I was first approached about this opportunity I thought I may pee my pants just thinking about it, but the day came quickly and before I knew it I was living a small town daydream; Hair and makeup done (I still think about my delightfully long fake eyelashes), escorted around backstage, our own trailer and full access to every VIP area I could find. As amazing as all the perks were I really just could not WAIT to get on the stage and when I did it flew by! The crowd was pumped, the lights were bright and my adrenaline was rush-tastic! This was, quite possibly, the most amazing 30 minutes of my entire existence! As a performer you thrive on the feeling you get from a situation like that and I am so grateful I had the chance to sing on such a fantastic stage and open up for some seriously legendary artists! A special thanks to Lisa Sauce and Blonde Entertainment for working so hard to book that show for us and for taking care of business!
